279 Reconstruction as Part of Breast Care Service: Are We Doing It Right?

Abstract Aim Breast cancer is the most common in United Kingdom. About one-third of our breast patients underwent mastectomy. The Association Surgery (ABS) and British Plastic, Reconstructive Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS) guidelines state that all who undergo mastectomy should be offered immediate reconstruction (IBR) delayed (DBR) unless contraindicated. This audit aimed to evaluate service compliance identify factors affecting number (BR). Method Our evaluated cases (n = 137) done between March 2018 February 2021. Patients with previous cancers were excluded. Data collected from clinical notes letters. Results 20.4% 32.1% IBR DBR respectively. Only 14.7% not had contraindications recorded whereas remaining no discussions recorded. Of those IBR, 57.8% expected have adjuvant radiotherapy.
